The curse of the White Taxi
Unruled, untouchable, unmetered, the White Taxis still roam the streets like pirates from a bygone era, plundering the occasional confused tourist like this reddit user who is asking how the system works, what system? Or this personal account of a guy who almost got killed using a White Taxi. While slowly loosing ground to the rise of more uber-like services, the White Taxi, or the only taxi that can “legally pick you up on the street”, is still stuck in the last century, totally unfit in a country so dependent on tourism and a lacking public transport infrastructure.
