The Highway Code toggle switch
AKA "il-Hazard lights", is a surprisingly powerful red button that gives the Maltese driver total immunity from the Maltese Highway Code. The button is used in cases were a driver needs to buy pastizzi, pick up something from a shop, talk to a friend, or simply walk into his house and block a road for an acceptable amount of time, usually between 5-10 minutes. The random pressing of this button usually comes at the expense of blocking an entire town or village.
